“Che ne sappiamo?”
a photo project by some very special friends
The normality of daily life, the reassuring repetition expressed by the adjective “daily” seems to reflect our basic need for safety, in order to manage to live.
Smells, images, sounds are the heartbeat of our day, a smooth flow of events repeating themselves until they disappear from the horizon of our consciousness. A photograph entails a separation: we only see a fragment of reality surrounding us and in a different light.
A photo becomes a metaphor, it talks, it catches something that goes beyond the fragment of daily life, it activates our affections, the images of our internal world, it allures that part of sensoriality, detached from our thoughts, to follow its path.
Using photos to tie back what was untied, to establish connections and to free it from deadly repetition. Moving along the process photo-image-though to re-own the vital dimension of daily life, of objects and people.
